A Valentine's date took an unexpected turn, you never thought would happen. It felt like a nightmare. You assumed you were going to awake from it at any moment, but it didn't. The bouquet of roses fell down to the ground in slow-motion, your girlfriend descending right behind it. Hailee collapsed, and all you could remember was yourself yelling for help. Her feeble body wrapped around your arms.

You hated hospitals. The bitter  smell of antiseptic, to the shallow white undertones, it triggered a sad emotion in you and you disliked it. You were tired, but you weren't going to leave Hailee's side. Your hand held her own, as she slept quietly on the hospital cot. The only sound that was perceived was the light beeps from the heart monitor.

" You have leukemia, Miss Hailee.."

Those words shattered you. After the endless blood tests they did to your girlfriend that Valentine's Day, the doctor concluded the results. You felt like your heart was going to explode out of your chest, a blue hue of sadness changing the atmosphere. But your hurt couldn't be compared to Hailee's. She gasped for air, tears running down her cheeks, as she trembled at the notice.

" It's impossible, that's not true. She's young. She doesn't have leukemia. She is perfectly fine, doctor. Please tell me she's fine."

You pleaded.

But the thing is, that the impossible, is always possible.

Heavy-hearted, you promised her that this was just a season. Winter. And that soon enough, the rays of that summer sun would recompense back her smile.

And you would do anything to see her smile again.
