Note: So, I just outlined the plot for Universe A and it may be taxing for me to do everyday update kasi medyo madami tinatambak na work now, and magooath and roll signing kami this June so baka maging busy talaga. Chapter 16
It was 12:30 PM and the group is hanging out at the cafeteria.
"Doug, san si Jellybelly?" tanong ni Elix.
"Oh she's working on her investigatory project." Sagot ni Doug.
Meanwhile, Sofi and Cathy were talking about something mundane when Doug suddenly sat beside Cathy and offered her his carrots which Cathy automatically ate. Sofi and Elix gave each other a knowing look but decided to shut up about it.
Cathy suddenly stood up and said she's going to buy milk-tea, Doug was about to say he wants one too, but Cathy immediately said "Alam ko na ano ibibili sa'yo." Then she walked away.
After much observing it was Elix who decided to address the elephant in the room.
"Alam mo bro, kayo ni Cathy yung literal na 'we finish each other's sentences'." Umpisa ni Elix, binigyan naman siya ni Doug ng 'oh-tapos' look.
"It's just... I know you. I've known you since we were kids, and I know your relationship with Bella and it's—"
"Different? Of course, it's different. I chose Bella, but fate chose Cathy for me." Doug coldly answered.
"I know that, I get that. But... I love all of you guys, individually and together. And I feel like if you continue being close like this, may masasaktan at masasaktan." Seryosong sagot naman ni Elix.
"I have a soulmate Doug, so I know what 'bond' you're feeling with Cathy. The thing is, I fell for Sofi kasi walang pumigil sa akin—"
"Are you saying Bella is stopping me from loving Cathy? Because you're wrong. I love Bella." Defensive na sagot ni Doug, napabuntong hininga na lang si Elix.
"Alam kong alam mo kung anong issue ang sinasabi ko dito, at alam kong ayaw mo lang harapin kaya ka defensive na ganyan. I'm just saying, it's either Bella or Cathy. You can't have both."
Nagkakainitan na sila Doug and Elix doon and Sofi knows she has to step in.
"I understand you Elix, but I also understand Doug. I saw Cathy noong sinubukan niyang umiwas kay Doug, and her soul was devastated. I told her to try to be friends with Doug, so mahirap maging nasa posisyon ni Doug ngayon." Sofi explained.
"Alam ko. Pero paano naman si Cathy? She has a very fragile heart, Sofi alam mo yan." Sagot ni Elix.
"But... she's not in love with Doug—"
"—Yet."
Natigilan sila lahat. Lahat sila narealize nila na hindi imposibleng mainlove si Cathy kay Doug, at hindi nila alam ang gagawin kung mangyari yun.
"I'm trying my best to not make her fall for me." Amin ni Doug.
"I know, bro. But... do you know how easy it was for me to fall for Sofi? Easy as breathing. And to think ako yung tao na hindi naiinlove, hindi nagcocommit. But when I met her, everything fell into place. Everything just connects. Loving her was the easiest thing to do."
Natahimik na naman silang lahat dahil alam nilang totoo naman ang sinabi ni Elix.
"Sa'yo siguro Doug madaling iignore yung 'connection' kasi nandiyan si Bella eh. Mahal mo si Bella eh. Pero... paano si Cathy? Naisip mo ba nab aka magisa siyang nasasaktan? Magisa niyang pinipigil yung connection kasi ano pa bang choice niya? Wala na. Hindi siya pwede lumayo sa'yo kasi nagmeet na ang souls niyo, pero hindi siya pwedeng lumapit sa'yo kasi may mahal ka nang iba." Elix ranted.
"I love you and Bella together and I honestly think that you make each other happy, but I love Cathy too."
Napahawak na lang sa ulo si Doug samantalang pinapakalma ni Sofi si Elix. Hindi lubos maisip na si Elix pa ang dedepensa sa bestfriend niya, and it just made her fall for him more. Tama naman si Elix, baka nga mag-isang hinaharap ni Cathy lahat.
"Ewan ko na. Mabuti pang sana hindi ko na lang nakilala si Cathy, sana hindi ko na lang nalaman kung sino soulmate ko."
Doug forlornly said pero matapos niyang sabihin lahat ng ito may narinig silang tatlo na tunog mula sa likod.
When Doug looked at his back, he saw Cathy... wide-eyed, shocked, and... hurt? Nahulog niya yung milk-tea na hawak hawak niya.
"Sorry—I umm clumsy Cathy back at it again I—sorry."
Hindi magkaugaga si Cathy kung anong gagawin niya. Gusto niyang umalis, gusto niyang tumakbo pero ayaw niyang gumawa ng eksena. Kaya sinubukan niyang pulutin at linisin yung milktea na natapon niya.
Tumayo naman si Doug para tulungan si Cathy pero noong palapit na si Doug, hindi mapigilan ng luha ni Cathy tumulo kaya tumayo siya at lalayo sana kay Doug pero biglang may bumunggo sa kanya at—
"Ouch!" sigaw ni Doug.
Natumba si Cathy dahil sa impact ng pagkabunggo niya sa taong pagtingin ni Doug ay mukhang gulat at naguguluhan sa nangyari.
"Are you okay, Cathy—"
Tutulungan sana ni Doug si Cathy na napaupo sa sahig pero pagtingin niya sa kung sino yung bumunggo, parang binagsakan siya ng langit at lupa.
"You—you guys are s-soulmates?"
Si Bella.
Alam na ni Bella.
