"Mom." I call.

"You are working me to death." Mom says walking around the corner.

"Who is this?" Mom asks smiling.

"Isabelle." I say.

"It's nice to meet you." Isabelle says.

"You sound Italian. You look Italian. Are you Italian? You're Italian." Mom says.

"You two would make beautiful babies." Mom says.

"That's not—" I say.

"A woman can dream." Mom says.

Isabelle smiles and mom hugs her.

"Come help your mother." Mom says walking to the kitchen.

I sigh and follow her. She points at the box and I pick the box up. I put it on the counter and she opens it.

"This is all the vegetables for the kitchen." Mom says.

My parents opened a soup kitchen when I was younger and it's been open for 20 years. I worry that she's gonna hurt herself running around so much. That old lady just won't listen.

"She's nicer than the other girl. And she's actually Italian." Mom whispers.

"How is she, by the way?" Mom asks.

"Hello." Allison says answering the phone.

"Can we talk?" I ask.

"You're not with my sister anymore, we have no reason to talk." Allison says.

"We were friends before future in-laws." I say.

"Okay, fine." Allison asks.

"Before you married Dylan, did you want to back out?" I ask.

"Yeah. You got cold feet?" Allison says.

"I'm not nervous, I just don't think I want to marry Max." I say.

"So don't." Allison says.

"It's harder to get rid of someone when you're legally in a relationship than when you're just in a relationship. I know that more than anyone." Allison says.

"Okay, thank you." I say.

"When are you two getting married?" Allison asks.

"I don't think I even want to be with her." I say.

"What? Why?" Allison asks.

"She's hiding something from me. And I know she's probably cheating I just can't accept it. I don't wanna admit it." I say.

My phone rings and I answer it.

"Hello." I say.

"I don't wanna be with you anymore." Isabelle says.

"There's someone else..." Isabelle says.

"I kinda figured that." I say.

"You got until Friday morning to get your shit out of my house. I'm send the rest of it to Goodwill." I say.

I hang up and sigh.

"She just confirmed it." I say.

"I'm sorry." Allison says.

"No relationship has worked out expect for with Alexa. Maybe it's a sign or something." I say.

"She called me and said she wasn't sure if she wanted to marry Max. I guess the wedding is still on because she hasn't said anything else about it." Allison says.
